Blue Water Sports Notices to Renters

Dive, paddle and other renters, Blue Water Sports is assuming that you know what you are doing when you use our equipment.  BWS therefore extends to you the renter to be responsibility for the equipment that you use.

The renter is responsible for inspecting all equipment before leaving BWS to insure that it is complete, in operating condition and clean to his or her standards. Should discrepancies be discovered, corrections, replacement or notation to the Rental Agreement will be made. The renter is responsible for the loading and unloading of all equipment and may request assistance from BWS if available. BWS has the right to inspect and if necessary require that transport methods be corrected. BWS is not responsible for damages to equipment occurring in transport or proper use of equipment.

If at any time any equipment is found to not be operating properly, the renter must immediately notify BWS.

Blue Water Sports will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any personal equipment associated with the use of BWS equipment.

Rental equipment must be returned in condition suitable for immediate re-rental. Equipment brought back in condition otherwise will be refused, possibly resulting in late fees, or charged a cleaning fee. Be sure to obtain the return copy of your Rental Agreement on return. It should be marked “Returned Complete”. If it has not been inspected or if some items are missing the return copy will be held until all items are properly accounted for.

 Extended Rentals
Do not assume that you can extend your rental period. Equipment may be reserved for others. BWS will make every effort to allow extensions, but give as much notice as possible.

Reservations
No reservations will be complete without payment in full. Once an item is reserved it can not be rented to another and the fees are due. Cancellations made at least 72 hours ahead of time will incur a 10% processing fee, cancellations made 48 to 72 hours ahead of time will incur a 25% processing fee, cancellations made 24 to 48 hours ahead of time will incur a 50% processing fee, cancellations made less than 24 hours ahead of time will incur the entire rental fee as no one else has been able to use the item. If an item was reserved and a previous renter has failed to bring it back or has damaged the item so that it is not available, BWS will make every effort to notify you and find you a like or better item.

Blue Water Sports will drop off any available canoe or kayak from BWS at any of the following locations and then will pick up at any location and return to BWS for the following charges. Other locations and additional services may be negotiated. Call for pricing on any personalized destinations or special needs.

Prices include loading/unloading fee of $10.00 per boat plus $2.00 per mile round trip. If the boat is not available at scheduled pickup, there is a $20.00 per hour wait time fee. Boats can be left by BWS at any drop off location with a personalized combination lock and cable for an additional $5.00 or left secured at a pick-up location. Paddles, seat backs, PFDs’ and other equipment must be picked up at and returned to the shop. You will not have to worry about specific rendezvous times. We would ask that you call us to let us know that you are on the way or have completed your trip so we don’t send out search parties. If we must drive thru town during high traffic times (high density traffic) or off-road, mileage fee will be $3.50 per mile for that portion. Customer will be responsible for any ramp fees or venue entry fees.

Multiple Boats: Second or third boat will only be charged the loading/unloading fee.

Third or more boats may require multi-boat trailer, which will cost $40.00 for up to ten boats plus $2.25 per mile and $4.00 per mile for high density or off-road mileage.  

Need a guide? That too can be arranged. They are trained and know the area, its flora and fauna, and will carry Emergency First Responder gear, extra equipment and their own craft. They can, but only if desired, set up camp sites, cook, break down, clean up, provide commentary and photo or video document your expedition.  Prices will vary depending on season and services.  Let us know how we can make you expedition a cherished memory.
