PADI Discover Scuba Diving

Why Discover Scuba Diving?
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Professional in pool or pool-like conditions. During your adventure, you'll master some basic concepts and scuba skills and might even head off to experience an open water adventure.

What do I need to start?

  • Minimum age: 10
  • A completed and signed Discover Scuba Diving brochure

What will I do?
When you participate in a Discover Scuba Diving program, you discover excitement and adventure - freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to the "weightless" exhilaration of breathing underwater. Only a diver knows the feeling!

Once you turn in your brochure you will meet one of our instructors at a pool or dive site, where you will watch a short video or go over a few learning objectives. Then you will try on scuba gear and take your first breath underwater under the supervision of the instructor.

How long will it take?
Get ready to dive today. Whether you watch the short PADI Discover Scuba video, or are briefed with the Discover Scuba Diving Flip Chart, you'll enter the water quickly and ready for your scuba adventure.

What will I need?

  • A sense of adventure
  • Discover Scuba Diving brochure

Where can I go from here?
As soon as you Discover Scuba Diving, you're on your way to an internationally recognized certification. That's because you may learn skills used in the PADI Open Water Diver course during your Discover Scuba Diving adventure. If you and your instructor elect to practice these skills, they may be credited toward the PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certifications.

Open Water

Open Water Diver training is the most common way of becoming a certified diver. When completed, you will be able to make unsupervised dives within your training and experience, rent equipment, and purchase tank fills. This course is usually taken over 4 days, and includes 4 open water dives. Course fees include books, rental equipment (excluding mask, fins, boots, snorkel and mouthpieces), and diving activity fees. Enrolled students will receive 15% off all equipment, and 25% off wetsuits if rental Suit isn't used.

If you are not sure whether you want to take the full scuba class, we offer an experience dive called Discover Scuba Diving, during which you will receive a brief intro and then be supervised in the pool with a Instructor or Divemaster as you experience diving. Your experience may be credited toward a full Open Water Class.

Price - $410.00 or if you bring a friend $350.00 per person.  Winter Special $310.00 or $285.00 with a buddy*  (We need a minimum of six (6) students for Special. Because we have to limit the size of classes with 10 & 11 year olds, they are not eligible for buddy discounts.

Private Classes - $550pp plus books
With a private class, you can choose the schedule and environment that's best for you.

What will you do?

  1. Learn about diving through self study and instructor presentations

  2. Master basic diving skills through confined water diving training

  2. You will be given a Open Water Diver Manual and Video to study at home, which contain knowledge reviews that need to be turned in

  3. During classroom presentations, an instructor will go over knowledge reviews, administer quizzes and a final exam
